All of these festivals continued the DEMF's traditions by featuring performances by musicians and DJs and emphasizing the progressive qualities of the culture surrounding electronic music. About The Festival THE DEMF has been established as the definitive experience of electronic music and its culture worldwide. Launched in 2000 in Detroit, the birthplace of Techno music, this massive music event generated one million in attendance and $94 million dollars in direct economic impact for its host city annually during its first three years of exceptional production.
