The Detroit Electronic Music Festival
(DEMF), and its successors comprise an annual series of electronic
dance music showcases held in Detroit each Memorial Day weekend
since 2000. Following the first three events under the name
Detroit Electronic Music Festival (2000–2002) were Movement
(2003–2004), Fuse-In (2005) and currently, Movement:
Detroit's Electronic Music Festival (2006–present),
with each name change reflecting shifts in festival management.
All of these festivals continued the DEMF's traditions by
featuring performances by musicians and DJs and emphasizing
the progressive qualities of the culture surrounding electronic
music.

The Festival
THE DEMF has been established as the
definitive experience of electronic music and its culture
worldwide. Launched in 2000 in Detroit, the birthplace of
Techno music, this massive music event generated one million
in attendance and $94 million dollars in direct economic impact
for its host city annually during its first three years of
exceptional production. Continuing to build upon the DEMF
tradition of excellence in making music and event history,
this world-renowned musical, cultural, and educational showcase
will launch in two top-ranked American tourist destinations,
which are soon to be announced. These greater international
entertainment experiences will feature spectacular venues
and highly creative presentations that will play host to the
globe?s most influential dance & electronic artists and

The DEMF: Detroit Electronic Music Festival
is the first electronic music festival held in the United
States. Lauched in 2000 by Carol Marvin and her team at Pop
Culture Media, this historic special event brought the entire
