| DJ Ellis Dee started
getting into electronic music and DJing around 1992. Ellis
started out mixing on a Denon 2000f dual CD player system
and practiced for many months, making lots of crazy mixtapes
for his friends and playing at a few local house parties.
After a year or so on the CD players, he moved to Techniques
turntables and now mixes with both CDs and vinyl.
In the beginning DJing was just supposed to be a hobby and
a creative outlet, but soon events took a very different turn.
Ellis started to get asked to play on DJ radio mix shows;
Power 106 FM's Power Toolz show and Sweedish Eagle's Groove
Radio International. It didn't take long for people to start
to notice Ellis Dee's DJing flavor and Ellis soon began to
get gigs in local clubs in Ventura and Santa Barbara. Soon
after this, Ellis Dee began playing out in LA underground
events in 1994 and this little hobby turned into something
more serious.
In 1996, Ellis began to get out of state gigs and this is
where things really started to take off. Since then, Ellis
Dee has played at events in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San
Bernadino, Memphis, Detroit, Seattle, Durham, Birmingham,
Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver, Las Vegas, Santa Maria, Yosemite,
and San Diego. DJing now takes a major part of Ellis Dee's
time but he enjoys it very much, and does his best to balance
DJing with other parts of his life.
Making lots of mixtapes and mix CDs was always a priority
to Ellis. As of April 2000 he has 16 mixtapes and 8 mix CDs
out. These mixtapes and Mix CDs have been sent to people,
radio stations and internet media broadcast sites all over
the world. Ellis Dee prides himself on a wide variety of music,
mixing all kinds of electronica including; Progressive House,
Progressive Trance, Ambient, Tribal House, Techno, Funky Breakbeats,
Oldschool Techno, Goa & Psyedelic Trance.
