From the moment I first saw some of those
80's teen flicks about high school rock bands and far-out
fantasy adventures as a child I knew that all I wanted to
do for the rest of my life was make music and design record
covers.
While in my final year at Central Saint Martins College I
decided to stop waiting for someone to notice me and hit the
streets of London with my D.I.Y. white label vinyls and handed
them out to anybody who would take one from me. Fast forward
a few years and I'm very lucky to still be here making tunes,
designing t shirts and DJing all over the world.
Many of my dreams have come true (releasing an album, meeting
Felix Da Housecat hehe) a few haven't (I'm still waiting for
Keanu Reeves to answer the phone and come on my radio show
haha!) but I'm grateful for every second that this adventure
goes on!
My debut album has just been released on my own record label
called San City High. It took me a whole year to make and
it's all about my childhood in Essex with vocals from Danimal
Kingdom (the "be kissy friend, be kissy foe" singer!)
and killer instrumentals like "Harriet" (with very
Very VERY complicated synth solos!) which will hopefully keep
you dancing for the rest of the year and/or make your mind
explode!
The tunes that originally got me noticed by the world and
all it's friends were my remixes which I'm really proud of
so if you haven't heard any of them try typing my name into
itunes, beatport and ebay ;-)
Because I owe alot of my success to the kindness of strangers
that got me noticed in the early days (big up Fake Blood,
Loose Cannons, Simian Mobile Disco, Eddy TM, Headman, Mark
Moore, Tommie Sunshine & Sinden), I try as hard as I can
to pass on that love to other young talented people I spot
on my travels.
My record label San City High is something I originally started
as an art project when I was at university, but as time as
moved on I've gained just about enough experience in the music
world to sign other musicians I go crazy for and use the enthusiasm
that comes so naturally to me to help my gang of artists move
on to bigger things!
