Dj Dana is without a doubt headliner
of the harddance scene. She easily gathered 7.000 fans at
her very own Dana X-qlusive party in the Amsterdam Heineken
Music Hall. Her first mixalbum ID&T presents Dana sold
over 35.000 copies. Her latest mixalbum, wich was released
on April 20 2004, sold 18.000 copies within a week!
This year was the second time in a row that Dj Dana was nomineed
for a TMF Award. She was elected best female dj at the Dutch
Dj Awards and she entered the English Mixmag top hundred of
the best dj's on the planet at fifty-five.
Her own record label "Danamite" just released Dana-Restyled:
hardstyle in it's purest form.
Dana van Dreven started dj-ing 11 years ago and has developed
her own style since then. A style that's best described as
a crossover between different genres of hard dance music,
with a rough feminine touch. She started to mix techno, trance
and hardstyle some years ago and this style became very popular.
Although her popularity reaches far beyond the borders of
Holland, Dana feels like the crowd has only seen a tip of
the iceberg. “I've put a lot of energy in my dj career
so far but in the very near future I will also put my scope
on my own record label Danamite.
The challenge hereby lies in trying to translate my dj-vision
on music to 12”. The first release "Dana –
Restyled" came out a month ago and has been very well
received.” The enthusiastic comments gave me the inspiration
to keep on following this path: release my own productions
and helping relatively unknown but talented producers to get
recognized.
What else can we expect from Dj Dana in the future “At
this moment all my attention is going into my album, wich
will be released in 2004. Besides that I'm working on two
mixalbums and my own clothingline. To show the crowd what
I stand for with Danamite, I also planned a couple of labelnights.
On these events I present myself and my ideas on music. And
of course I will keep playing parties all over the Globe.
