Music has always been Ronald Van Gelderen's
love and hobby. In the Harbour City Rotterdam, The Netherlands,
Ronald had toyed around with the idea of producing music while
studying to become a technical engineer. After meeting Ferry
Corsten (a.k.a system F, Gouryella, Moonman, Albion, etc..)
, he finally took the plunge in 1997 and under the guidance
of Ferry Corsten, Ronald released his first track, "My
X-Perience" in 1998 under the alias Formologic on the
label Flammable Records. Soon after "Sweet Substance"
under the alias N-Fluence was quickly signed up by Paul Oakenfolds
label Perfecto, and upon release Ronald gained notable reviews
in the trance scene.
Plunging into producing full-time in 1999, Ronald has proven
to be the master of his unique "slightly tough"
sound with strong melody structures and a cutting edge. The
first release under Kid Vicious name was "Paraphrase"
and the follow-up single "Re-Form", with a b-side
mix from Tiesto, was also a clubhit. This track also lead
to their collaboration of the tracks "Urban Train"
and "Suburban Train" which entered the UK single
chart at #22.
Ronald's next release, a club anthem entitled "Konga"
-this time released under the Van Gelderen acronym- proved
to be yet another winner for Ronald, earning him further recognition
as an upfront dance-producer. The follow-up single "Aftershock"
has just been released and although not as large as the "Konga"
track it is again a quality release, again finding it's appreciation
from various DJ's worldwide.
In a relatively short career, Ronald has also established
himself as a well-known remixer and has had the opportunity
to remix singles for artists such as Ferry Corsten, Libra
(BT), Dream (Japan) and Rapid-Eye (Steve Hellstrip), to name
a few.
Being a full-time producer has also allowed Ronald to mess
around with a variety of styles and sounds and as such has
proven to be a rising DJ in the international circuit. He
is represented by Anna-Agency, also based in the Netherlands
(Amsterdam), who represents other popular DJ artists such
as Marco V and Johan Gielen.
The year 2003 will be another successful year for Ronald.
The release of his latest single PROCEED has been a favourite
in the worldwide dance scene, with great airplay (8 weeks
i a row) by Judge Jules on BBC radio 1. Suffice to say, this
record has been on the playlist, of all big jocks all over
the world! His remix of Rapid-Eye's "Stealin Beauty",
and Fery Corsten's "PUNK" has also been recognized
by both djs and clubbers all over the world.
With a sky-rocketing career both as producer and DJ, Ronald
van Gelderen is rising!
