Beach Club Details...
Warung,
Av. José Medeiros Vieira, Praia Brava
Itajaí, Brazil, 88306.080
Based on the sands of Praia Brava, with
a pleasant view of the Atlantic Ocean, Warung Beach Club is
a totally nature integrated atmosphere, which was developed
using the Bali Island as the main decoration theme. Even the
name of the club was inspired by its culture language. Warung
means home for the natives from Bali. Recognized as the electronic
music temple on the south of Brazil, Warung has one main dance
floor with two vip areas and a second outdoor stage. Its reputation
is remarkable because of its unforgettable summer seasons,
the ones which the club invites the greatest names from the
modern electronic scene to enjoy the hottest parties at this
amazing tropical paradise, year by year.
Warung
Information...
To the Balinese people, Warung means
"house": the place where they welcome tourists,
visitors, clients and, specially, friends. To Warung Beach
Club's faithful public and rookie devotees, Warung is the
temple for electronic music. A concept club acknowledged worldwide
not only for its high quality music but also for many other
factors.
A perfectly harmonic blend of music, nature and a very special
public may be the best explanation of Warung Beach Club's
magic. But magic is a mysterious thing, so we are better off
leaving explanations aside and simply enjoying what the club
has to offer. A night at Warung is always unique. That is
why they are all so special.
Not only the name, but also the theme decoration and project
have a strong connection to the islands of Indonesia. Warung
is a beach-front construction at Brava Beach, in Itajaí,
one of Santa Catarina State..s most hyped regions. From the
main balcony of the mezzanino you have a privileged view of
the whole Brava Beach and neighbor city of Balneário
Camboriú.
Every year, thousands of tourists and Summer lovers from
every corner of Brazil and from all over the world arrive
at this well preserved paradise called Brava Beach, a place
blessed with white sand, green forests and clear sea water,
in the middle of a very tourist-friendly region.
Warung Beach Club opened its doors in November 2002 as a
new and strong entertainment option for Santa Catarina State
and Brazil's South region. It soon became a reference also
in the international scene. It's concept involves several
bars and restrooms, 2 dance floors, one of them open-air and
the main one, with a 2 thousand people capacity, VIP areas
and lounges.
Revolving only around electronic music, the club has a maximum
capacity of 3500 people per night. The exclusive decoration
and furniture was hand-picked by the club owners in a trip
to Bali. Chairs, tables, benches, sofas and pillows, chandeliers,
stone and wood sculptures filled two containers.
It didn't take long for Warung Beach Club to be considered
Brazil's number one electronic music concept club. It earned
several prizes and was mentioned in many publications throughout
the world. Among the most recent ones, Mix Mag, the world..s
most important specialized magazine, elected Warung as one
of the three best clubs on the planet in it's November 2005
issue.
In early 2006, the British media focused Warung again, through
the pages of Mix Mag and also DJ Mag. Both major publications
exalted the club, highlighting the crowd's beauty and energy,
the good vibes from the nature that surrounds the place and
the club's music.
In a report explicitly entitled "Paradise Found",
DJ Mag gives the veredict: "If your intention is to know
the clubs in the world, then Warung is a must go". Following
the same line, Mix Mag starts its report stating: "Brazil
is the new Ibiza!".
Doing a serious job from servicing the public to carefully
picking the attractions, in the second half of 2006 Warung
took another step towards its solid conceptual expansion.
Throwing a party in Ibiza is something any Brazilian club
dreams of. Warung, however, went beyond that: it launched
it's first European Tour between the end of August and the
beginning of September 2006, taking over Ibiza and charging
Circo Loco, the most famous after-hour on the island, at legendary
DC.10.
After that beautiful international debut, Warung took its
staff, team and know-how to two other European stops, at two
legendary places: Coccon, the million dollar club from DJ
Sven Vath, and The End, another holy ground of the international
scene. The tour showed everywhere they went to that the Brazilian
way of partying is as highly regarded as never before.
With that clear boundaries expansion, Warung Beach Club is
at the front line of the world..s best clubs. Always keeping
the same magic that, apart from explanations, is better understood
after spending a night with us.
DJ Mag Club Review...
It's so close to perfect that it's almost a cliché;
looking over at a vast palm-fringed beach in the warm Brazilian
air with white sand between your toes and waves lapping at
the shore, as the stars of the Southern hemisphere twinkle
above you and the lights of Balneario Camboriu glisten in
the distance. In fact, the only thing that's stopping a loop
of the Wish You Were Here theme tune playing in your head
is the soundtrack of space-age electronic music filling the
air.
That, and the fact that the thousands of Brazilians and
clubland jetsetters who've made the pilgrimage to Warung Beach
Club on the outskirts of one of South Brazil's biggest beach
resorts are looking a lot fitter and pulling dance moves a
lot more agile than Judith Chalmers does these days.
For whilst Balneraio Camboriu, with its concrete high-rise
hotels crowding right up to the water, can resemble the Brazilian
Benidorm in parts, the main dancefloor and outside terrace
surrounded by rainforest at Warung Beach Club could hardly
feel further away in terms of class and cool despite being
just a short distance down the Praia Brava beach.
Although Warung is now widely recognised as one of the best
clubs in Brazil - if not South America - its decor and name
is actually inspired by the Indonesian island of Bali almost
on the other side of the world, where 'Warung' means 'house'.
Which is exactly what one of the most impressive sets of residents
in the world provide in myriad forms; with Leozinho, Rodrigo
Paciornik, Aninha, Fabricio Pecanha and Mary Zander pioneering
the sort of supple deep house grooves that are as synonymous
with this club as sun, sea, sand and sexy dancing.
And the DJs they invite to this desert island paradise seem
to have been selected from the most discerning dance music
fan's wishlist, with Laurent Garnier, Dubfire, Richie Hawtin
and 16 Bit Lolitas just a few of those to have played to the
bikini and beach-clad hordes beneath Warung Beach Bar's triangular
tent. 16 Bit Lolitas are such favourites there that they were
asked to mix the recent inaugural edition of Warung Club's
compilation series, given the task of capturing the club's
unique atmosphere on CD.
"The people there are so into the music," 16 Bit
Lolitas' Aad Olieroock reveals. "It means that they appreciate
you playing a range of styles rather than just prog or minimal
for five hours.
"South Brazil's the best place to play in the whole
country because there are more party people there and the
weather's warmer. It has that whole outdoor Ibiza summer vibe
where everyone wants to look beautiful and when you roll that
up into such a professional club it's just the perfect package."
