| DJ Sets ::Kyau vs Albert (Ralph Kyau
& Steven Moebius Albert)
Ralph Kyau makes his first experiences
with the production of electronic music, he performes his
tracks live on several underground techno parties and releases
his first record (Kyau "Modulation Experiments")
in the end of 1993.
1994 - Together with
the DJ Shandy Ralph founds the label Harmony Recordings. They
sign Mirco de Govia as their first artist. Steven Moebius
Albert begins to produce his own tracks. In the Summer 1994
they meet their first time.
1995 - They produce their first tracks together
for a live performance of Steven Moebius Albert and realize
that they have common ideas of sound.
1996 - Their first single "Let me in"
is released. From now on they are on the road under their
artist name Kyau vs. Albert. Their two small studios emerge
and they found a music production company.
1997 - Early this year they found their record
label Euphonic. Rough Mullar (aka Sonorous) and Ronski Speed
are signed for the new label. With the solid foundation of
Euphonic, Moebius und Ralph are finally able to present their
ideas to the public audience.
1998 - The guys produce various tracks under
different pseydonyms. The first Euphonic label compilation
"We come in peace" is released. Kyau vs. Albert
become a very popular live act.
1999 - A house production of Ralph and Moebius
(Moebius AG "Do what I want") becomes a club hit
without any further promotion and enters the German Dance
Charts.
2000 - The single "Great/Loebau"
enters the German Dance Charts in January, promoted by several
German radio stations. The first major record company WEA
Records (Warner Music Germany) is interested in Kyau vs. Albert
and they start to cooperation over the following 3 years.
2001 - The single "Outside" including
the video clip is on TV. Paul van Dyk plays the single several
times and invites the guys in his radio show. "Outside"
becomes a massive radio hit and enters the German single sales
charts at rank 74.
This is followed by remix requests of acts like KayCee and
Kosheen and first TV gigs. The guys are on the road as live
act or DJ act nearly every week and do work very hard on their
new single "Save Me".
2002 - In the beginning of the year the recording
of the single "Save Me" is finished. Kyau vs. Albert
produce several remixes for other artists. In August 2002
"Save Me" enters the German single sales charts
at rank 44.
2003 - In March the first longplayer called
"Review" is released - a compilation of the best
productions and remixes. The CD becomes "Record of the
month" in the German Raveline magazine and "Album
of the week" at Sunshine Live Radio. They produce the
single "Velvet Morning", which enters the German
single sales charts at rank 74.
2004 - In January the single "Velvet
Morning" gets a release on Anjunabeats in the UK. The
following single "Not With You" is featured by the
singer Julie Lutat. In July this song enters the German single
sales charts at rank 93. In August after almost one year of
hard work, the debut album "Here We Are Now" is
released in Germany. Kyau vs. Albert do a remix of "Jump
The Next Train" by Young Parisians. This song becomes
a worldwide club hit. Instead of accepting a lot of remix
offers they do remix themselves to release "Made Of Sun"
and "Falling Anywhere" from their album.
2005 - The Single "Made Of Sun/Falling
Anywhere" is released in Germany on Euphonic and in the
UK on Anjunabeats. At the end of January "Here We Are
Now" is available via Watermusic in the USA, where the
album reaches a lot of North American fans. In the beginning
of March Kyau vs. Albert release their first mix compilation,
called "Positive Ways 4".
